Alexis Carrelli

Class of 2013 Majors: Psychology, Political Science

Drexel University’s Thomas R. Cline School of Law

Alexis Carrelli was a member of the B team during her first year competing for RUMTA.  She was a Defense attorney and the emotional witness for the Prosecution while on the B team and during her second year, she became a defense attorney and the crying widow for the plaintiff on the A team.

Alexis attended Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law and has worked for a criminal defense attorney in Cherry Hill as a law clerk. She plans to become a trademark/ copyright attorney in the New York City area.

Rutgers Mock Trial Association increased my intellectual confidence level. I was always embarrassed to tell people I wanted to be a lawyer, I did not think I was smart enough, or skilled enough to follow through with those aspirations. In my first year of law school I was not imitated to speak up in any of my classes, and I have RUMTA (and Craig of course) to thank. Joining a club was very much out of my comfort zone and I would never change the experience I had with RUMTA or my teammates because it helped shape who I am as adult. My only regret is that I did not join RUMTA sooner.
