This past weekend, RUMTA’s A and B Teams competed at Tufts University’s Mumbo Jumbo Invitational and University of Georgia’s Classic City Invitational, respectively. Both teams made Rutgers proud, with exceptional performances against a competitive lineup. At Tufts, Rutgers A faced teams from Northwestern University, New York University, Penn State University, and Rhodes College. A Team left the tournament with an honorable mention and a CS (competitive score) of 21.5, the highest in the whole competition! A Team competitor, Sunzida Ahmed, continued the success with her 20 rank Attorney Award! After the tournament, Captain Zoe Chang made sure to express her joy, noting “I am immensely proud of my team for our success in spite of a less than ideal online format. We are exactly where we need to be in preparation for the spring season.”

Meanwhile, B Team held strong at UGA’s Classic City Invitational, facing teams from Emory University, Vanderbilt University, George Washington University, and Northwood University. B Team Captain, Neha Aluwalia, remarked “I’m so proud of my team and the improvements we were able to make in the one week between our competitions! I love seeing those ‘lightbulb’ moments and watching how each competitor grows into their own mock trial style”

As RUMTA gears up for the spring season, each team is working tirelessly to perfect their performances and with several more invitationals lined up, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
